Halfway through his sophomore year at Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL,
(which was also midway through his third semester trying to pass college algebra),
Vinnie Coppola was diagnosed with a rare strain of, what experts refer to as,
Big-Time Math Retardation. This information obliterated our young heros dream of
entering the field of aeronautical engineering and one day following in the footsteps
of those guys who do stuff to planes. To ease his incessant suffering, Vinnie sought
refuge at the Conch House Grill and Marina only to discover the Thursday night Comedy
Showcase. He became a regular performer and quickly developed a reputation for being
original and highly experimental. It wasnt long before he was filling the paid emcee
spots at local comedy clubs and hired by area businesses to perform at their corporate
events.
Vinnie is one of the founding members of the Jacksonville Comedy Workshop
and helped develop the Make-Me-Laugh Mondays, both of which
are still going strong to date. His comedy is a smooth blend
of biting sarcasm and observations that he delivers in a
style that comes straight from the heart. He tailors his act
to accommodate the audience, so he can excel at the bluest
of comedy clubs to the cleanest of corporate shows. He was
dubbed The Hit Man by his peers in his first few months as
an amateur comic; partially due to his Italian heritage, but
also due to his threats to kill anyone who steals his
material. Vinnie Coppola has appeared on the Nashville
Network, Comedy Central, and Turner
Souths Liars and Legends.
